Truly a labor of love, this project started in the Summer of 2005, when Natalia started working with Mick Jaroszyk, her brother and Maciej Sobczak, leader of the band Hot Water and Medical Morning, and they began recording. At first they worked in a tiny basement studio.. or rather a basement, recording and re-recording tracks with great abandon and brain storming till the wee hours of the morning. There were musicians and friends flowing in and out of that underground day and night. A few weeks later they may have looked rather pale and spent but they knew they had something special in their hands. They got together with Robert Fraska and Darek Nowicki, the other two members of Hot Water, and began playing concerts performing the new material. Great fun was had by all so they played on and have to this date put out some pretty rocki'n concerts.
Since that first recording session, Natalia, Mick and Maciej got together every few months to work on new songs, some of them covers of songs by Jimmy Hendrix, ZZ Top and Hot Water, like Angel, Gimme All Your Lovin' and This Song's For You. They also began working with Krzysztof Wiki Nowikow who co-produced Overdrunk Love, Malenka and Angel.
At the beginning of 2008 Natalia and Mick opened a profile on Sellaband - an international record label and music community, which connects artists directly with fans. Here fans can support their favorite artists by contributing to their recording budget. And so, after just a few months, through an amazing outpour of moral and fiancial support Natalia and Mick collected the entire budget for their debut album. It is currently in the works and is scheduled for realease on the Sellaband label in the Autumn of 2009.
On January 30, 2009 Natalia's song HEY YOU, arranged by the awesome Kostek Andreev and Mick Jaroszk, appeared on the soundtrack of "New In Town", a romantic comedy starring Renee Zellweger and is now available on the soundtrack album of the movie on iTunes, Amazon and in record stores everywhere.
This Summer HEY YOU will be heard on the soundtrack of another romantic comedy "I Hate Valentine's Day" with Nia Vardalos and John Corbett, out in theaters July 3.
None of this would be possible without the one and only Mick Jaroszyk, whose talent, vision, tenacity and tireless all nighter sessions of guitar playing and sound mixing are the inspiration behind it all. And the fact that when Natalia and Mick get together they can't stop making music. Enough said, have a listen and judge for yourself.
